Mack George was born on November 2, 1926, in Punta Gorda, FL the ninth child to Mack & Illinois Gollman. He enjoyed reading and gardening. Mack joined the U.S. Army at 18 years old on 11 May 1945 to serve in World War II but 4 months later in Sept 1945 the war ended. Mack graduated from Florida A&M University and received a master’s degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University. Mack married the love of his life Doris Juanita Seward of Ft. Myers, FL. She also graduated from Florida A&M University and was the first black Registered Nurse in Lee County, FL. Mack was an educator in the Lee County School System and helped run the family businesses; the Gollman Store, a Laundry Mat, as well as multiple rental properties. Mack George passed on 8 Jun 2009 at the age of 82 years old and was buried in Ft. Myers, FL.
