The Gollman Family Legacy Foundation's mission is to continue and expand upon the legacy and foundation that was established by our ancestors over a century ago in 1906.

The Gollman Family Legacy Foundation's vision is to assist family members in establishing business entrepreneurships and accomplishing their educational goals.

The Gollman Family legacy started in the early 1900's when the first generation to be born free from slavery, Mack Gollman decided to leave the plantation area he grew up in Newberry, SC. Mack Gollman eventually settled in Punta Gorda, FL and met Illinois Bailey of Tallahassee, FL. As a teenager Illinois was forced to flee her families home with her parents and eight siblings due to racial violence. The family eventually settled in Punta Gorda, FL. Mack & Illinois married on March 6, 1906. They decided to work hard and go into business for themselves to establish a better life for their 10 children. Punta Gorda had a thriving black community from the 1920s to 1960s. The Gollman's had multiple business ventures in Punta Gorda such as a bar, restaurant and a ballroom that was on the chitlin circuit. The Gollman's also owned multiple rental properties and land throughout Punta Gorda, FL. The Gollman's were able to send all their children who decided to go to college and grad school. They established The Gollman Corporation, Inc as a family trust for their children who went on to branch out to Fort Myers, FL where they established a store, seafood shack and multiple rental properties and land. The Gollman Family has a long history and legacy of entrepreneurship that was established over century ago by Mack & Illinois Gollman in 1906.
